These people of mine. Grateful for this season of life. ❤️❤️❤️ As busy as it keeps us, I’ll take all the driving and managing schedules, plus all the good conversations that go along with it. I was so worried about what it was going to be like having teenagers, but this is my favorite stage yet!

The amaranth were overtaking the garden, so we started chopping them down! But as we were carrying them out, we decided they were too pretty to just trash (even though a ton are still growing 😆), so we are drying them out. I have no idea what we’ll do with them, but like literally everything else around here, we’ll figure it out, right?! 🙈

Because flowers make us happy! These zinnia seeds were from @floretflower, and they are doing incredibly well in the garden. I’ve never in my life deliberately planted flowers because I thought for sure I’d just kill them all, but it’s amazing what some good soil and sun will do 😁 It’s not really up to us after all 😆 If planting seeds intimidates you, just do it anyways... you’re going to surprise yourself! (This applies to more than literal seeds 😉)

All 6 chickens laid their eggs in the same nesting box today! I don’t think this has ever happened since we got them last spring... usually some are in the nesting boxes, some are in the loft of the goat shed, and we’re pretty sure there’s a pile under the goat shed 🤦🏻‍♀️

What’s it like with your chickens... is every day an Easter egg hunt, or do they lay in their boxes all the time like good little girls?! 😆

Spent the day at the fair enjoying the food and the farm animals... then came home to enjoy our farm animals... Can’t get enough! 😆

Anyone else talk to all the animals that aren’t yours because you feel like they understand you?! 🙋🏻‍♀️

PS - Our goats think they are dogs, especially Jasper. Whoever raised him as a baby let him in the house like a house pet, and now he acts like a puppy ☺️

Previously I’ve only ever killed houseplants... but the outdoor garden is thriving! So fun seeing what treasures are out there every day!

The cucumbers are coming in, and I think the tomatoes are about to ripen 🤞🏻 What are you harvesting now in your neck of the woods?!

Gardening teaches us so much - we started planning this garden months and months ago, designing the beds, preparing the soil, cultivating the seeds, planting, watering, and WAITING.

Gardening shows us God’s abundant nature: from one tiny seed, vines, flowers, and ultimately FRUITS sprout. Not only that, but fruit that can produce HUNDREDS more of its kind! All from one tiny seed. The abundance of God.

We learn patience in the waiting. We see certain things are out of our control. We must do our part in the planting and the watering, but the growth only happens because God designed it that way. Amazing.
